I met Hector when I was 17 and a lil' shithead. He came up wit' an idea to get the two of us outta Drain and make somethin' of ourselves, and I never looked back. The two's of us been through a lot together over the past 35 years. Hard work that knocked us on our tails n' made us fall into cheap mattresses like we'd never slept before in our lives. Clawin' our way outta the worst of it. Gettin' his name out there. Watchin' him step through da Rift. 33 years a' godhood. Good years, bad years. Sacrifice, self-destruction, and a whole cobdamn apocalypse. N' now were here, and I can't think of nobody I'd rather spend dis new life with. Sometimes I still let 'im push me around too easy, and we're both territorial as anything. He won't keep da house clean and he's a pain in my ass sometimes. He's got a lotta stuff to work out. So do I. But we're gonna be okay. Come Drain or high water.

One'a my Boys, definitely da cream of da crop. Never had nobody so competent workin' for us. She knows this paranormal junk inside n' out, is sharp as a tack, strong as all get out, even opens up shop early for us. I'd trust 'er with just about anythin'.

Anotha Bizzyboy, one'a the ones that's a girl. (Sorta? Sometimes? I dunno, gender's funny and I ain't thought it polite to ask.) I like her. Serious, but not too serious. Bout as experienced as experienced as Basira. Got a pixelation problem. Good head on 'er shoulders. Seems to think the way I write is funny??? Kids these days, who knows.

Somethin's wrong wit' dis one. I wouldn't say he's a pity hire necessarily, but he definitely seemed like maybe he needed somethin' to do. He's a Bizzyboy and also works at da BK, and if he ain't followin' me or Hector around, he's probably followin' that scary woman he likes so much. Still, he's a real caring sorta guy who wants to help, and I can't say I don't know what it's like to just wanna fit in somewhere. So he'll fit in right here.

The newest Bizzyboy. No work ethic, this one, and he has about 20-45% of an idea what he's doin' at any given time, but you can't beat his enthusiasm. Reminds me of some of da Boys from back home. He'll be alright. He can handle the stuff that Basira and Moiré are overqualified for, and can distract people or stall for time wit' da best of 'em. Plus he can plan a mean office party. I like 'im. He's a good kid.

Lil' rascal. Nearly gave me a gods damned heart attack. But also I inexplicably feel like I would probably die for her if necessary. Maybe it's just 'cause I see a lotta my younger self in her. I hope she feels like she fits in, these days.

Zivia's a real religious sort, in a way I don't got much experience with but really admire. It's nice to have someone I can talk about faith stuff wit', even if we got different experiences. Like... real different. But I think that's what makes it nice. I could learn a lot from her.

Now Drelasa, she and I got a lot in common. It's almost a little weird. I ain't really had too many friends outside the Bizzyboys in a while but I'm pretty sure this is what havin' a best friend is s'posed to be like. She's about my age, real good to me, I can talk to her about damn near anything, and we got a lotta similar interests. I trust her a lot n' I want good things for her.
